The pilot of a light aircraft has been killed in a crash in New South Wales’ far west, after reportedly hitting power lines and bursting into flames. Emergency services were called to a rural property at Tilpa, about 191km southwest of Bourke and 917km northwest of Sydney, about 12.10pm Monday. Initial reports suggested the plane had clipped power lines and caught alight when it came down. The 52-year-old man piloting the aircraft died at the scene.
