Calvin Harris' "Olé"—the alleged Hiddleswift song no one saw coming so soon—dropped today. Yes, it's really reggae, and yes, the Harris-penned lyrics (which are written from Tom Hiddleston's perspective if this is, in fact, a Hiddleswift ditty) do suggest Hiddleston and Taylor Swift may have been involved before her split with the DJ.
There is one caveat to this though: sources have told several outlets that the song was written before Hiddleston and Swift had their awkward little dance-turned-globe-trotting-romance at the Met Gala a month before Harris and Swift officially broke up.
A Harris source told Us Weekly the John Newman song was recorded months ago. Whether the track was tweaked in between, these "sources" are lying, or Harris is just using Hiddleswift to get the track publicity, who can say? Maybe Harris is in on that wild conspiracy theory after all...
Listen to the song below and make what you will of these lyrics:
Low key, you won't tell none of your friends about me
You won't tell them I occupy your dreams and your thoughts
[Editor]
Look at what we have started
I feel so good when I leave your apartment
I know, there's no telling how far you can go
And you won't want to hear about my love and my lust
Babe that I have been feeling
I kiss you once, then I stare at the ceiling
Chorus:
Olé, you bring too much sunlight to my day
And only you can chase the pain away
You bring too much sunlight to my day, my day
